Yeah, I haven't been around for (more than) a while. The reasons would take up an entire post... and then some. Suffice to say I've been prodded/shamed into returning by my sister (who's become enamored of the blogosphere), and I'm currently in Hawaii.
I’ll boil the explanation down to a couple of sentences: 1) it became a type of discipline to concentrate on fiction, and then I lost over a year's worth of a novel when the new MacBook crashed (yes I should know better but some people obviously like to learn the hard way - or not at all), and 2) it simply felt like life should be lived... just a tad less virtually. I was still around the blogosphere, although a photoblog is much less time-consuming.
Sigh. There's simply too much going on right now for me to keep my big yap shut.
Not with millions entralled by misinformation delivered by possibly what/who will become one of the worst political blunders in history. Then again, maybe not - the big boys (hint: that's a metaphor) must be delighted at having their message delivered by the canniest political MILF around (she's on our side and she's ambitious as well as compliant... who could ask for anything more).
And not to mention the surprisingly little outrage at the latest example of the suppression of freedom , as well as the illegal harrassment of the legitimate press.
It never fails to astound me how those that cry loudest about America's great freedoms should employ banana republic (or worse) tactics against those they disagree with.
Aloha (hello and goodbye) for now. I promise to be back soon.
Great links Shaunna!

Blessings to you my Woolf Camp Sister and all around fabulous one. Thought I'd say hello and aloha and to tell you thank you for speaking out and thank you for calling out the lies.
Welcome back. Write another entry when you can. I know the serenity of the islands very well and I think you need to bathe in its warm waters and breath in the flower scented air. Revive, then come back badass.
And - I sucked in my breath and shook my head when I read about the loss of your novel. Gah. GAAAAAAAAAAH.
Now, back to your well deserved rest in paradise.
Obama in 08!
And love,
Grace
